Laser Scanning Thermography for Coating Thickness Inspection

نویسندگان

چکیده

The paper deals with a new approach to laser thermography for the inspection of coating thickness. is based on scanning specimen surface point by point, using low-power laser, and recording temperature responses an IR camera. A recorded sequence then transformed into similar flash pulse sequence. Fast Fourier transform was used as processing technique. results are compared measurement. It shown that measurement provides higher sensitivity thickness changes than

Multi-spot Laser Scanning Thermography for Delamination Inspection GFRP Structure in CFRP/GFRP Structure

In this study, a multi-spot laser scanning thermography (MLST) system is developed for automated, rapid and long-range inspection of delamination in composite structures. First, thermal waves are generated by scanning a multi-spot laser beam over a target composite structure, and the corresponding thermal waves are measured by using an infrared (IR) camera. Then a thermal image processing algor...

Automated laser scanning system for reverse engineering and inspection

Recently, laser scanners have been used more often for inspection and reverse engineering in industry, such as for motors, electronic products, dies and molds. However, due to the lack of efficient scanning software, laser scanners are usually manually operated. Therefore, the tasks that involve inspection and reverse engineering processes are very expensive. In this research, we propose an aut...

Electromagnetic pulsed thermography for natural cracks inspection

Emerging integrated sensing and monitoring of material degradation and cracks are increasingly required for characterizing the structural integrity and safety of infrastructure. However, most conventional nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods are based on single modality sensing which is not adequate to evaluate structural integrity and natural cracks. This paper proposed electromagnetic puls...

Choosing the Optimal Coating for Thermographic Inspection

Lately, the method of thermography is becoming an unavoidable method in non-destructive testing of different metal materials and constructions. The application of this method is found in testing the energy efficiency, deterioration of structural components, as well as testing the energy efficiency of housing units. Using the thermographic method it is possible to reduce the negative environment...
